Our Story
In the spring of 1995, Dale and JoAnn Fisher had an idea to open up a hunting lodge in Belle Plaine. The problem was they had no lodge, so Dale had the idea to take down a barn that was located on one of the family farms and move it to town, which became a huge undertaking. Each piece that was taken down was labeled so that when they got it back to town they would know which piece went where. You could say it was like putting a puzzle together.
In the following months, finishing the inside and outside became a family project along with a few local carpenters to. By that fall, the project was completed and the lodge was ready to open. They really had no idea how things would go and if there would be that many people interested in coming to Iowa to hunt.
Though Dale passed away in 2022 and operations have been taken over by his son Eric and Eric's wife Julie, people are still wanting to come and hunt here with most of them being repeat customers.
